FOLDER PERMISSIONS REPORT
The folder permissions report presents a tabular view of file system permissions. It includes advanced sorting, filtering, and grouping capabilities - allowing you to create highly customized permissions reports.
Unlike the hierarchical tree view, this format displays all permission entries in a single, comprehensive grid. This offers a number of advantages:
- Sort permissions by any column (folder path, account name, permission type, etc.)
- Apply multiple filters simultaneously to narrow down specific security scenarios
- Group results by criteria such as permission type, account name, or inheritance status
- Export filtered results to CSV, Excel, or PDF for compliance documentation
The table view excels at revealing patterns across your storage systems that might be difficult to spot in a hierarchical view. For example, you can instantly identify all folders with explicit "Modify" permissions granted to specific users, or quickly locate all permission entries that aren't being inherited from parent folders.
Each row in the report contains detailed information including the folder path, account name, permission type (Allow/Deny), specific access rights (Read, Write, Modify, Full Control), inheritance flags, and propagation settings. The built-in column customization lets you show or hide specific details based on your reporting needs, while the powerful grouping function allows for sophisticated data analysis and security auditing.
