The File Owner Treemap provides a powerful visual representation of disk space consumption across your file systems. Using a squarified treemap algorithm, this visualization displays file ownership hierarchically - with each owner represented as a colored region containing nested blocks for their file types, sized proportionally to storage consumption.

Hierarchical Visualization

The treemap uses a two-level hierarchy: owner-level blocks display each file owner's total storage footprint using distinct categorical colors that cycle through a vibrant palette. Within each owner block, file type blocks show the breakdown by extension, inheriting their parent's color at reduced opacity for visual continuity. Hover over any block to see detailed tooltips with owner name, file size, and file count.

Configurable Display Metrics

Choose whether block sizes represent file size (total bytes) or file count (number of files) based on your analysis needs. The granularity setting controls how many file types appear within each owner's region - showing only the top N file types by your chosen metric. This prevents visual clutter while highlighting the most significant storage consumers.

Instant Pattern Recognition

The treemap excels at revealing storage patterns that might be hidden in tabular reports. Instantly identify storage outliers - users consuming disproportionate space.
